Ingredients

  • 1 lb Short rib stew meat

  • 1 lb Beef stew meat

  • 1 lb New potatoes, diced

  • .5 lb Sliced carrots

  • 1 Bunch Green onion

  • 4 Turnip Bottoms Turnip bottoms

  • 3 Tomatoes Diced tomatoes

  • 2 Bulbs Garlic, minced

  • 3 tbsp Worsteshire sauce

  • 1.5 Gallons Water

  • 1 tbsp Black pepper blend

  • 1 tbsp Garlic Italian blend

  • 1 Tbsp Salt

  • 1 tbsp Garlic Italian seasoning

  • 2 c Flour

  • .5 c Oil

Methods

  • Season the meat with black pepper blend, salt, and Italian seasoning.
  • Heat the oil and sear the meat on all sides.
  • Add flour, coat the meat and continue to brown.
  • Add 1/2 vegetables including garlic and continue to brown.
  • Add warm water, stir and reduce heat to a simmer.
  • Cook an additional 1/2 hour and then add other 1/2 vegetables and adjust the seasoning.

The stew will thicken as it reduces.
